BATON ROUGE, LA – Bayou Traditions, The Official Collective of LSU Athletics, has announced Jared Wilson as its new President.
Wilson, a Tennessee native, enters his new role after nearly 30 years in the media industry.
As the President of Bayou Traditions, Wilson brings over two decades of sports marketing and business development to the position.
With a professional journey spanning 13 years in Baton Rouge with Guaranty Media, Wilson is deeply rooted in the Baton Rouge community – cultivating meaningful relationships along the way.
Growing his account list by 25%, Wilson has also previously served as the Senior Manager of Business Development for Virginia Tech Sports Marketing with Learfield/IMG where he managed a set of clients including Marathon Petroleum Company, Kubota, and Appalachian Electric Power.
Serving as President, Wilson will lean on his preexisting relationships with LSU Athletics administrators, coaches, student-athletes, and other key stakeholders in the NIL space to identify new areas for fan engagement, launch innovative marketing initiatives, and establish a unique culture for those who “Join the Tradition.”
“This new era of college sports has been exciting to be a part of. I’m incredibly thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the team continuing to make Bayou Traditions and LSU Athletics great. LSU has been at the forefront of the NIL space, and my goal is to continue to add value by bringing opportunities to LSU student-athletes,” said Wilson.
Three years of NIL have come and gone, and collectives are here to stay.
Bayou Traditions serves as the sole collective supporting Name, Image & Likeness opportunities for LSU student-athletes. Under the direction of Wilson, the priority of Bayou Traditions remains maximizing opportunity and impacting the lives of LSU student-athletes.
In January of 2023, Bayou Traditions entered into an agreement with LSU Sports Properties, becoming the official collective of LSU Athletics. Since 2023, Bayou Traditions has entered into over 250 NIL deals with LSU student-athletes providing opportunities across all sports.
To maximize opportunities for LSU student-athletes, Bayou Traditions excitedly announced a new partnership with TAF Services Corporation (“TAFSC”), a new subsidiary of Tiger Athletic Foundation on Thursday, July 11th. Though this partnership, TAFSC will provide fundraising services on behalf of the collective.
“No pun intended, but this is a collective effort, and we are all here to make LSU the best,” said Wilson.
LSU Athletics has a tradition of creating champions on the field, and Bayou Traditions allows LSU sports programs do what they do best: WIN. Contributing to Bayou Traditions is investing in impact.
To kick off the 2024-25 season, Bayou Traditions and TAFSC are celebrating 100 years of Tiger Stadium with the Give 100 campaign where fans receive commemorative items with a contribution to Bayou Traditions.
